Theodore Ernest Els was born on October 17, 1969. This South African golf pro has made an unforgettable mark on the world of golf and the hearts of others. Ernest affectionately known as “Ernie”, has mounted a successful track record of 70 career victories. His long and exciting career includes four major championships, two World Golf Championships and seven World Matchplay titles under his belt.

There’s no doubt that Ernie has earned his place among the living golf legends of today. Ernie’s skillful swing also earned him the nickname “The Big Easy” on the greens and a spot among the World Golf Hall of Famers in 2011.

Ernie Els has devoted his life’s legacy to building his Foundation, Els for Autism. The foundation was established by Ernie and his wife, Liezl, in 2009. Their son, Ben has been greatly affected by the disorder. His personal journey with autism sparked the desire inside of his parents to start a foundation and build a center that offers advanced therapy and treatments to children with autism.
