FedEx Cup News - Harbor Ridge
Before we get to Henrik Stenson and the concern surrounding the officials at the PGA Tour. Let's talk about how the tournament has played out so far. We are seeing excellent performances so far from Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, and Bubba Watson all of whom win the cup if they win the event coming to an end Sunday. The winner, of course, taking home the massive bonus prize of 10 million dollars on top of purse money they have already won. It will be the 6th year since the PGA introduced the FedEx Cup and we still aren't yet sure how the players themselves feel about it. Which brings us to the point of controversy this year, Henrik Stenson, who has won the cup before in 2013, could win it again this year. The only issue is that he can win the FedEx Cup without winning the actual TOUR Championship. Without having won an event at all. The PGA Tour point system has been a point of conflict for the past few years because of its difficult to understand point system. But the good news is that the tour has shown us what is the greatest influx of talented young golfers in sixty years. Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, and Rory McIlroy. Spieth, who stands in second place with FedEx points, is only 22 years old. The number one contender McIlroy is 26. Many reporters are likening this group to legends like Player, Nicklaus, and Palmer. We would like to take our time and make our comparisons in a few years these talented gentlemen have several years to play and develop. The real trick will be looking back at these players in 15 years and seeing how much they have improved. What can we even expect from these athletes in the future when Jason Day is setting records like shooting twenty under par at Whistling Straits? We would like to hear what you think. Reach out to us on our Facebook page and tell us if you think. Are these players are going to be the next legends or do you think they are already flying too close to the sun? Harbor Ridge is excited to hear what you think and loves to hear from golf and tennis fans alike. We would love to see you at on one of our championship golf courses, and encourage you to "Be Our Guest."
